Within 20 years of the Famine, the Irish population was down by 30pc. Over the equivalent period, thanks to western food, the Mercedes 10-wheel truck and the Lockheed Hercules, Ethiopia's has more than doubled.

Resource use: population (n) x minimum resources to sustain a life (r). We can reduce r all we want but it will never hit zero, so as the population grows, any cuts we make will not be sustained.

The Ecocide: humanity has expanded to the point that it dominates every ecosystem. As we urbanize this produces a worldwide heat island effect because there are human cities worldwide reflecting heat.

Half Earth is the only solution.
