To advocate Semitic religion as a means to the end of a better life or a better world, seems like a good idea in the short term - but it is fundamentally false and alien to reality.

He takes dualism seriously: the point of Semitic religion is to save the soul for the other world. It will not improve this world, because the world is doomed. So goes dualist theory.

I take Jesus as a Buddhist or really, Platonist: the point of Semitic religion is to fix individual mental states so that people can be more realistic. Dualism reads too much into Christian imagery and not enough into the whole of the Bible.
