About HOUSTON
Houston, TX is a humid, freeway-bound, concrete-plated, cockroach-ridden city expanding along the "Los Angeles model" of automobile-dependent city design. Nevertheless, it is one of the most popular destinations for people seeking the American dream, and home of not only the oil industry, but many thousands of food service workers who have indie rock bands named after serial killers.
About CORRUPT
CORRUPT is a thinktank and civilization watchdog that believes a better future for humans will come by embracing organic reality and not institutional or emotional abstractions. Our goal is to get human civilization back on track by separating fantasy from reality, applying the principles of information science, and promoting organization over confusion.

We'd like to thank contributor Pétur for translating pan-nationalism.org into Icelandic.
Pan-nationalism, or world nationalism, is the idea that each ethnic-cultural group (joined by language, heritage and culture) deserves its own nation.

We receive daily support and criticism from readers who have reflected over what they've read at Corrupt, some nervous about the situation, others casting the problems aside, trying to live in ignorance.
Today we received an interesting email from Thomas Clementz:
Hi Corrupt,
At first, I thought you guys were exactly the kind of group I was looking for, but after reading your plan to develop your ideas, I ended up pretty disappointed.
The scenario you describe in your Goals is exactly what the state of the world is today, I am 100% with you on this.
I personally give it 30 to 40 years max for almost ALL predictions you make in it to happen.
But your Plan is far from being the solution when faced by the self-destructing evolution of humanity.
Even if you progressively gain a larger audience, you will not have any real power during the next 30 to 40 years (and then HUMANITY's SELF-DESTRUCTION will be already starting).
Personally, I am for a hands-on apporach, pretty much like in the "Army of the twelve monkeys".
If you have the means to radically change society, even with a "heavy human cost", it should be done ASAP!!
TIME IS RUNNING OUT VERY QUICKLY!!
I personally think that wars for food and water are going to take place in the coming years in most underdevelopped countries, and with NO DECISION ON BOOMING POPULATION IN THESE COUNTRIES, the problems will only snowball.
I lived in countries like Philippines, Indonesia and now Brazil. I know what it is to live with people absolutely unable to think beyond suicidal religious and traditional beliefs!!
Most humans on this planet do not deserve to survive as the are incapable to use more than 10% of their brain capacity and are then according to me mere zombies or dead walking with no aim!!
According to me, the number of children per woman worldwide MUST be limited to TWO immediately. As we all know that this will NEVER happen, a RADICAL SOLUTION MUST BE DEVELOPPED TO CONTROL WORLD POPULATION NOW!!
If such a solution existed, I would be ready to give my life to have it applied NOW!!
Hi Thomas,
Most of your fears are correct and I agree that the situation is critical.
The immediate reaction is this: OMFG DO SOMETHING NOW.
And nothing happens.
You want to know why? Because civilizations aren't changed over a day. Most people who urge others to shoot people, overthrow governments, or do something drastically radical, never even move from the couch at home.
Even more, revolutions don't work. We can't change all of this over night, even if we wanted to.
Corrupt is dedicated to a peaceful reform plan and we are certain that it can happen, if we manage to unite the thinking segment of our population and gear them towards this common reform plan.
Also, note that we don't want to save everyone and everything. It can't be done and it shouldn't be done. Most people in our modern societies are a waste of time. Why do we need them? The answer is that we don't. Let them self-destruct. This gives us some relief, because we stop trying to be Jesus and start to think pragmatically.
You're not alone in thinking like you do and that is in part why Corrupt exists. We want to educate and inspire people to understand that everything is NOT lost. Yes, many beautiful things are dying, and this is despairing, but people and ideas in modern society that are currently failing will not be missed when they are gone. See it as natural selection in the social world. If an idea doesn't work, it'll fail. If an individual cannot take care of him- or herself, it self-destructs. There's nothing horrible about that.
We will survive this. Self-discipline yourself, learn to love life, embrace the possibilities, and never give up. Be creative. Express yourself and work for the benefit of your community.
Ever onward into countless battles.

Most women really hate photos of themselves. We shy away from the camera - a captured expression of self-consciousness only compounds the problem! It is true though, that we become less critical of these photos some years later. This attitude is really stupid and seems like some kind of twisted vanity. It is only recently that I have found a solid explanation for it.
The source of the problem is indeed the oft-blamed media saturation with skinny models and beautiful celebrities. The same thing that is blamed for the common conditions of eating disorders and other body dysmorphic disorders. But it is not just a shallow wish to look like them. In fact it goes much deeper than that.

Plato was the one of the greatest philosophers in the Ancient Greece. Following the ideas of his teacher Socrates, Plato developed an entire metaphysical and political system, rooted in the belief in noble virtue and human reason. Plato saw the divine in the origin of our world and attempted to construct a philosophical system that would reward and celebrate its very essence. He was the supporter of aristocracy and dared to continue the controversial legacy of Socrates, despite his teacher being sentenced to death for his opinions. There is an old saying that says basically all philosophy is a variant of or a reaction to Plato. Considering the vast influence he has had on Western philosophy and culture, and elsewhere in the world, it is certainly not an overstatement.
Contributor "Temeneus" presents one of the greatest philosophers the West has ever produced, elaborating on his metaphysical, political and ethical worldview, which describes how to achieve transcendence.

The Patagonia, a geographic region in the southernmost part of South America, is one of the most pristine places on Earth. Wild, vast and rich in its unique attributes and biodiversity, it is one of the last unspoiled natural treasures on this planet. Now it is under threat by transnational corporations who seek to exploit it for the sake of profit.

Recent genetics studies are giving us a pretty good look at how closely the nations of Europe are related to each other and also sometimes how distant they are from non-Europeans. We can't look at someone's genes and tell what country they're from, at least not with our current knowledge, but we can narrow it down to just a few.

I propose a general rule of musician rewards: The amount of money you make from music is inversely correlated to the amount of social benefits you gain by playing it, assuming the level of competence is equal. Social benefits are groupies, friends who buy you drinks because you're in a cool band, the respect of bosses at work, being introduced as someone interesting at parties etc. - basically social status and access to sex.

We've decided to remove the Corrupt forum.
It appeared there was plenty of directionless activity, and no real action toward a goal, so we saw no point in continuing to spend time on moderating it.
Forums in general attract loudmouths, not action-oriented people. Corrupt is an organization dedicated to change and remake our society, and we need people who are willing to sacrifice time and effort to make that happen. The forum was not such a place for such activity and therefore we decided to remove it.

"Weev" is a professional hacker and a troll veteran, causing havoc at marketplaces and provoking reactions in the cyber world. His activity has led him to espouse a "ruin lifestyle," which means he moves from condo to condo, with no name and no posessions. Weev recently made the headlines when he appeared in an interview with Mattathias Schwartz for the New York Times, in which he explained trolling as a way of circumventing societal norms and creating social discourse. His ideological and religious ideas challange the common perception of what it means to be a troll in the 21st century.

Coming from disparate parts of a city that in its distribution of specialties resembles a machine, the attendees of 2600 and later HAQR meetings converged on the Galleria. In a city laced with commerce, the Galleria is a semi-elite gathering of expensive shops and flagship franchises in the heart of the city suburbs.
However, being elite in commerce does not mean that one has high standards. Instead, the Galleria is open to whatever huddled masses might come its way, so long as they can swipe a credit card. Wannabe gangstas, pale greenish-tinged sick people, teen sluts in halter tops, burn-out office workers with pissed-off written behind their eyes, and all nature of fat, lumpy, stupid and otherwise dispossessed people flooded through its halls.
As a result, when a hacker's organization meets, those who can disrupt the commerce all around them by punching into its innards and entering unfortunate viral patterns are a minority that gets crowded into a corner. The ever-welcoming Ninfas fed us, and allowed us three hours of racous conversation on every topic from Cisco administration to steganography. Highlights included an animated debate about the virtues of the recent New York Times piece on trolling.
After 2600 gracefully concluded, the members of HAQR conducted their meeting under the plasticine eaves of a nearby Borders Books and Records, retreating into the unfinished maintenance halls of the mall for a few quick smokes and the more risque conversation. Topics ranged from history to future means of communication, and plans quickly developed for more digital mayhem in the future.

Cuil made the headlines in all the right ways: written mostly by a rare woman in technology, created by former Google staffers, claims to fix the problems that Google has and index more sites. Of the above, what stuck with most experienced observers was the claim of a better type of search. Cuil claimed to analyze page content, not popularity measured by number of inbound links as Google does, and that appeals to all of us who have laughed out loud at the results returned by Google.

On July 22nd, two members of CORRUPT, overcoming the apathy prevalent in modern society, decided to ignore their mistrust of the internet and meet up for a day of hiking, conversing, and general mischief making. Planned by a California member, the itinerary would take the visiting CORRUPTian from the Bay Area's most scenic forests to its stronghold of liberal fascism. Though the distances to be covered were great, the duo set forth with an enthusiasm rarely seen by most lethargic moderns. Both were eager to bond with nature and confront and discuss the modern disease, all in the name of striving for a better future.
The adventure began with the two members meeting in the heart of San Francisco and driving north to Mount Tamalpais State Park. After parking at the base of the mountain in Stinson Beach, the duo began the trek with gusto, fearlessly attacking the steep inclines while taking the time to appreciate the majestic scenery. They were also able to discuss matters of philosophical and political importance without being restrained by any sort of political correctness, tackling issues ranging from traditionalism and the caste system to the failures of modern "medicine" and medical ethics. Shortly after said discussions, and a few hours into the hike, the duo reached one of the mountains many ranger stations and took a moment to rehydrate.
After consulting their trail map, our CORRUPTians decided to continue the hike by heading deeper into the park to Muir Woods. The visiting hiker had never seen the redwood forests that have made the Californian wilderness famous, so the two continued their adventure with the same zeal displayed at the beginning of the day. On their way to Muir, the CORRUPTians held a lighthearted discussion of current American politics and the upcoming federal election; however, such a superficial subject could hardly keep their attention long, and their topic quickly turned toward one of far greater cultural and intellectual importance: metal music and the Hessian lifestyle. Upon reaching Muir Woods and the majestic redwoods, the adventurers almost simultaneously began to think of black metal forest god Ildjarn. A lively conversation about his contribution to the art form soon followed. It became obvious that interacting with nature serves to increase a Hessian's appreciation of black metal, an important lesson for all metalheads and Hessians.
After resting and enjoying a small lunch, the warriors decided it was time to turn around and leave the woods for the second, though no less important, part of the meeting. During their descent, they briefly reviewed the many problems involved with environmental protection in an industrialized, bureaucratized capitalist society. Though both quickly agreed that trying to implement change in a democracy is near impossible due to the short-sighted, profit-based mindset of modern voters, the CORRUPTians still had to confront the fact that future solutions may prove to be no less daunting. While the cultivation of a sane environmental ethos will doubtless require that the "privilege" of mindless overconsumption via the mass market be curtailed or even revoked outright, the two agreed that any national economy needs some form of material wealth—meaning that reformed governments will need to learn how to thrive and be profitable under an environmental ethic.
The two finally reached the official California CORRUPT mobile and, though tired from the hike, began the journey to Berkeley. Though several unforeseen events tested the members' sanities, both survived to continue their adventure in the form of infoterror wrought upon one of the most liberal cities on earth.
After parking in an overpriced and foul-smelling garage, the two gathered their courage and set foot on the campus of UC Berkeley--the lion's den of liberalism. The birthplace of the modern leftist movement. Everything that was terrible about the 60s--from the inane and juvenile forms of protest to the filthy hippy orgies--could probably be traced back to this fortress of self-righteousness. But the two adventurers were prepared to confront the campus and its oblivious coeds with reality in the form of CORRUPT fliers. Luckily, the California CORRUPT member had posted flyers on the campus last year, and knew which high traffic areas to strike. Bulletin boards, classrooms, payphones and telephone poles were plastered with propaganda demanding the students to "End Democracy" to save their sanity and their environment. Though a few flyers were controversial, they were posted in the hope that at least one intelligent would be interested enough to explore CORRUPT and its underlying philosophies.
After spending several hours and their last bit of energy on this infoterror mission, the duo felt that they had used the day to its full potential and decided to head home. Though they will once again be separated by distance after the visiting member returns to his home across the country, the CORRUPTians still developed a strong friendship based on an honest desire to confront reality in a sober and rational manner, rather than through the maudlin emotionalism of the American political right or left. Both vowed to meet again, and to continue to spread to philosophy of CORRUPT--not for any personal glory, but for a better, saner future.
The Bay Area of California has a history of producing unique cultural and social phenomena. Surely its status as one of the real hotbeds of liberal politics in the United States should by now have produced enough thoroughly disillusioned and well-intentioned sane people for future California meetings to grow in size. For a society that is ever more obviously displaying its inability to support itself, few things could be more welcome than a level-headed forum such as CORRUPT, in which interested participants may freely collaborate on current environmental, social, political, and cultural problems--and how we may take action to solve them--without the need for censorship, emotionalism, or moralism.

"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it into a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." Bruce Lee, one of the greatest fighters the world has ever known, pushed the limits of modern martial arts by developing their philosophical roots. He returned to the source of martial art knowledge, which led him to the concept of Jeet Kune Do: having no way as a way, e.g. to adapt to everything in order to surpass it, be it a single street fight or physical training. Bruce Lee was not only a philosopher or a fighter, but also someone who cared about health and life on a grand, cosmic scale.
Contributor David Ravel presents the world famous martial arts fighter and traditional Chinese philosopher Bruce Lee, elaborating on his concept of Jeet Kune Do, his physical training, and his cosmic Taoist philosophy.

In our time our lives are filled with hyperstimulation of the senses. Densely populated towns and cities are full of loud and obtrusive bangs, roaring engines, the constant ambient humming, bright billboards and light stands, not to mention stale air from nearby exhaust pipes. Foods are laden with addictive "food-like" substances; commercials and adverts try to coax you through sexual innuendo and suggestions.
If you are feeling that your life is adrift in the wild stream of modern chaos, consider this document as one branch extending to your direction. This branch, however, can do only so much; the quality and direction of your life is totally depented on how motivated you are in making your life anew. Everyone will have to earn their wings.
